1. Paul Strzelecki - A Forgotten Polish Hero

Visit a temporary panel exhibition on Level A of the galleries looking at the fascinating life and achievements of Paul Strzelecki. Count Strzelecki was a Polish humanitarian who helped over 200,000 children during the Great Irish Famine. This exhibition is on loan from the Polish Embassy in Dublin.

2. Polish Folk Art – Beliefs, Colour and Symbols

See some lovely examples of Polish folk art through a pop-up exhibition on Level B of the museum galleries. This exhibition is curated by Bardzo Ladnie Foundation as part of a nationwide campaign called Integration Through Culture.

3. Wooden Architecture Świdermajer Style

View a small photographic exhibition about the unique 19th century Świdermajer wooden villas of Otwock, Poland. Also curated by Bardzo Ladnie Foundation, this display consists of photographs of Świdermajer villas by Tomasz Brzostek and information panels about the style.

4. Online seminar - Folk Art of Ireland and Poland

Learn about the folk art of Poland and Ireland with Clodagh Doyle, Keeper of the Irish Folklife Collection at Turlough Park, and Dr Marcin Piotrowski from the University of Lodz. This online seminar, first broadcast in December 2020, explores rich European traditions of festive folk art and looks at common motifs and beliefs between Ireland and Poland.

5. Traditional Polish recipes

In association with our exhibitions exploring various aspects of Polish history and culture, the Museum is also delighted to share some traditional Polish recipes, compiled by Dorota and Dominik Denysiewicz. Learn how to make some favourite Polish dishes from stuffed cabbage rolls to ryemeal soup and potatoe pierogis.
