Primary School Colouring Competition

Inspired by the Words on the Wave exhibition Words on the Wave: Ireland and St. Gallen in Early Medieval Europe, and in association with the Royal Irish Academy we have created a range of exciting new colouring sheets.

To celebrate the new exhibition and colouring sheets we are running a colouring in competition for Primary school pupils from 3rd -  6th class. We are asking all participating schools to please download and use our wonderful new colouring sheets found on the below link!

One winning class will be chosen from each category 3rd/4th & 5th/6th Class. Winners will receive competition winner bags of National Museum of Ireland resources which will also include copies of The Irish Art of Calligraphy, by Timothy O’Neill. Museum educators will also hold Virtual sessions with the winning classes to celebrate their winning artwork.
 

How to enter

  • Teachers are asked to submit only one piece per pupil
  • All submissions must be accompanied with a completed Application Form found here
  • Competition is split into two categories 3rd/4th & 5th/6th Class 
  • Student class and first names only to be written on the back of each piece
  • All entries to be scanned to a single PDF and emailed to Educationarch@museum.ie or posted to Education, National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin 2, D02 FH48
  • Competition closes Friday 24th October
  • Winners Announced Wednesday 5th November
