Workshop: Raider, Trader, Settler or Craftsperson?

Put the skills of the archaeologist to use in this special hands on session! What can archaeology reveal to us about the beliefs and everyday lives of the Vikings who first came to Ireland 1,200 years ago?

As part of this interactive workshop, students will learn about how archaeologists work with evidence and put some of these methods into practice, analysing replica Viking grave goods including whalebone linen smoothers, iron helmets and precious amber.
