Footprints in the Snow - Family Drop-In Event with ISL

Sunday 30th November, 1:30pm to 3:30pm at the Dead Zoo Lab

Join us for a fun and creative winter-themed drop-in session where you can make your own greeting card featuring a deer or polar bear and their footprints in the snow! Alongside the craft, you'll get hands-on with fascinating objects including a real red deer antler, a replica polar bear skull, and animal footprints.

An Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreter will be present throughout the event to ensure it's accessible to all. No booking required - just drop in and get creative! This event is also fully wheelchair accessible.

During this drop-in event you can...

• Make a greeting card to take home with you
• ​Learn about the animals that inspired the craft. 
• Touch and inspect up close the handling collections of real and replica objects!  
• Have a chat with a Museum Educator and don't forget to ask them your curious questions. 
• Inspect the Discovery Carts in the Discovery Zone. Meet and touch a mounted badger, a large ammonite fossil, and a stinky pilot whale skull! ​

What is a drop-in event at the Dead Zoo Lab?
Drop-in events are located in the Discovery Zone in the open gallery of the Dead Zoo Lab. Each drop-in takes place over two hours and features a short activity that last 5-10 mins with a Museum Educator. Each activity is inspired by the natural history collections in the Museum. The short activity usually involves seeing and touching real and replica handling objects such as furs, bones or fossils.
