Provenance: unknown Maker: unknown

This group of four chairs are very similar and were possibly made by the same maker.

A unique feature of the Sligo/Tuam chair is its distinctive triangular seat shape. The seat is made of four parts. The centre of the seat is made of two wide boards forming a T-shape.  A further two narrower side boards, or wings, are added and create the seat's distinctive triangular shape. Attractive open triangular shapes are also created on both sides of the seat.

The makers and donors of these chairs are unknown
