Over 90 years, the National Museum of Ireland has been collecting examples of a particular chair type known as the 'Sligo' or 'Tuam' chair. Our Irish Chair: Tradition Revisited is a temporary exhibition in which the Museum's full collection of these chairs is displayed for the first time. The exhibition takes a closer look at this chair type and its place in the story of Irish design.
The What’s in Store gallery, will be closed to the public on Monday, 23rd June 2025, to accomodate on going research.
