About Fighting Words Mayo
Fighting words Mayo was founded by Noreen Walsh, Laura Campbell and Teresa Keane in 2015, with the belief that there are no limits to imagination and creativity.
Fighting Words Mayo is the first branch established outside of Dublin since Roddy Doyle and Sean Love founded the Fighting Words Creative Writing Centre in 2009.
How it works
With the help of volunteer tutors, children write an original story and decide on the characters and plot. A volunteer artist is also on hand to provide illustrations.
The story and illustrations are bound and each child receives a copy of the book to take home. Each book is personalised with a photo of the student on the back cover.
