Talk: They Walked These Hills Before Us: Ice Age Wildlife
Admission Free | Booking Required
Do you ever wonder what kinds of ancient animals lived on your doorstep thousands of years ago?
Join Michael Chambers from Wild Nephin National Park for a look back at the wildlife that walked through the valleys of the Wild Nephin National Park and how the landscape has changed since the end of the last Ice Age.
Find out about Ireland's Natural History and more about our brown bear on display.
Michael Chambers is Supervisor Guide at the Wild Nephin National Park. As part of his role, Michael delivers ecology education programs and guided walks in the National Park. Michael is passionate about local history and has a strong knowledge of the Nephin Beg Mountains, having lived in the valley of Shramore that is nestled in the heart of the Nephin Begs. It was within these mountains while herding sheep with his father Neil that Michael was exposed to the rich local history of the area. Over the years Michael has explored the landscape and has made a number of very important discoveries, bringing to life the old stories told to him in his youth.
This talk is in conjunction with The Murmur of Bees exhibition and our brown bear display.
