International Museum Day - Hands-on History: Museum Mechanics

Free

A selection of handling objects: bonnet, butter pats, cassette tape, quill and ink well, bullets, teapot and ewer, drinks labels, and ceramic plate.

Join us for an interactive handling session to celebrate International Museum Day.

Have you ever wondered about the life of objects before they are put on display?

At Hands-on History: Museum Mechanics, you can look at fascinating artefacts from the Museum’s handling collection up close as well as explore some of the paths artefacts take and the questions museum workers ask of them before they're put into the glass case!

This free drop-in handling session will take place from 2pm to 4pm in Reception at Collins Barracks.

Booking is not required. For more information, contact bookings@museum.ie or call 01 648 6317.
